As cellphones become increasingly prevalent among both adults and youth, many schools face an important question of policy— whether or not having a cell phone on hand enables a student to quickly summon assistance in the middle of an emergency. Incidences of violent attacks at a school, fires, kidnappings, medical emergencies and other emergencies can be reported quickly so that the appropriate authorities dispatched. Allowing students to carry cell phones gives parents the ability to contact their children whenever necessary. But there are also many disadvantages o allowing students to carry cell phones. A cell phone going off can be extremely disruptive in the middle of class, interrupting a lecture or breaking student concentration during a test So according to me it depends on the school authorities whether to allow students to carry cellphones to school or not
In this 21st century, cellphones have become a vital part of 92% people; including youths and senior citizens. Coming back to the topic, I think that elementary and high schools should not allow usage of cellphones in their premises especially not during lectures. School students mind get diverted very easily and using cellphones will distract them from school academic, besides this children in their childhood and puberty go through development of their body; usage of mobiles mostly throughout day causes problems for our eyes.Most people for specification students have different applications on their cellphones like games, social media apps, etc. When children are there in lectures, carrying their cell phones; it is found that their sub-conscious concentrates on their cellphones and they don’t focus in their class. Thus, affecting their studies.
It depends on the person how one makes use of the technology given to him. According to me if a student is allowed to use cellphones at elementary level, the applications may fascinate them and distract them due to which they may lose their concentration in studies. This is not the same with the high school students. They are mature to use the technology in the right way and on the right time. Mobile phones can help for various purposes to students if used in the right manner. So students can be allowed to use cellphones at high school level.
