In smoke and Fog, dispersion medium is same i.e. air but they differ in dispersed phase. In smoke, solid carbon particles are dispersed in air while in fog, liquid water particles are dispersed in air.

smoke and fog both are aerosols but difference is that the smoke is solid aerosol that is dispersed phase is solid and dispersion medium is gas whereas fog is liquid aerosol in which dispersed phase is liquid and dispersion medium is gas
