Smriti is two years older than Srusti. 10 years ago the ratio between their ages was 1:2 . Find their present age​

Let the age of srusti be x years.

Then age of smriti will be x+2 years.

10 years ago :-

Age of Srusti = x - 10 years

Age of smriti = x + 2 - 10 = x - 8 years.

As per given condition :-

$\frac{x - 10}{x - 8} = \frac{1}{2} \\ \\ 2(x - 10) = x - 8 \\ \\ 2x - 20 = x - 8 \\ \\ 2x - x = 20 - 8 \\ \\ x = 12 \: years$

Therefore present age of Srusti = x = 12 years.

Age of Smriti = x + 2 = 14 years.
