Smt.Desai sold shares of face value Rs.100 when the market value was Rs.50 & received Rs.4988.20 She paid brokerage 0.2% &GST on brokerage 18%, then how many shares did she sell ?​

1.calculate the brokerage on market value

2. GST on brokerage.

3.as the shares were sold so the brokerage (in 1) and GST (in 2) needs to be subtracted .

4. Then calculated the no. of shares which usually comes in 100,1000

Amt received =No. Of shares sold ×M. V - Brokerage - GST on brokerage

4988. 20 = No of shares x 50 - 0.118

4988. 20 =No of shares ×49.882

Therefore, No of shares =4988.20 ÷49.882

=100 shares

That's the answer
