50 Shares Sold

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Shares Sold = n

Market value per Share = 40  Rs

Value of 40 Shares = 40n   Rs

Brokerage = 0.2%

Brokerage = (0.2/100)40n

= 0.08n  Rs

GST 18 % on brokerage

GST = (18/100)(0.08n)

Brokerage + GST  = 0.08n  +  (18/100)(0.08n)

= (1.18)(0.08)n

= 0.0944n

40n - 0.0944n  = 1995.5

=> 39.9056‬n = 1995.5

=> n = 50
