snacks and lizard are placed in the same class though they are very diffrent . why?

It is not snacks it is ; snakes and lizard these are placed because that share some common features like one is reptilian character

because they both have same skin , hibernate during winters .And most important they both are reptiles and Vertebrates ( organisms which have back bone ).
