Snake and Earthworm look alike. But why is the mode of their locomotion so drastically
different?

An earthworm moves by contracting it's front part of body ,which makes it move ahead,after that It relaxes it's back part and this cycle is repeated again and again.

A snake's movement is different bcoz it has scales on its body which help him to slither in a wave like motion.
