I believe that the reason why someone would think that a snake are ugly is because of the possible lethality of snakes. People for thousands of years have cast snakes in this negative light due to how a snake can kill someone. Many animals that can kill someone are cast into a negative light, such as sharks, spiders, wolves, and alligators.
Most animals that are “ugly” are also linked to being able to kill someone, especially if that animal is stealthy, such as a snake. People are afraid of snakes, thus people don’t like snakes and think they are ugly. This is actually a good thing since people will stay away from thing that they don’t like, and thus they won’t have a chance of getting bitten and possibly die.
