Snake is written by D.H.Lawrence.In this poem the poet accidentally saw a snake near his water trough. The poet calls the snake a guest , a king living in exile yet to be crowned and, a god. He saw the snake drinking water like cattes. It was really a very hot day in Italy.At first the poet thought the was very blessed to see the snake drinking but his modern education forces him to change his attitude. Ultimately he picked a clusmy log and threw it on the snake. But after some time he felt regretted on his mean act.
