Solution -

Volume of cylinder is 924m³ .

CSA of the cylinder is 264 m² .

 \setlength{\unitlength}{1mm}\begin{picture}(5,5)\thicklines\multiput(-0.5,-1)(26,0){2}{\line(0,1){40}}\multiput(12.5,-1)(0,3.2){13}{\line(0,1){1.6}}\multiput(12.5,-1)(0,40){2}{\multiput(0,0)(2,0){7}{\line(1,0){1}}}\multiput(0,0)(0,40){2}{\qbezier(1,0)(12,3)(24,0)\qbezier(1,0)(-2,-1)(1,-2)\qbezier(24,0)(27,-1)(24,-2)\qbezier(1,-2)(12,-5)(24,-2)}\multiput(18,2)(0,32){2}{\sf{r}}\put(9,17.5){\sf{h}}\end{picture}

Suppose that the radius of the cylinder is r and the height is h.

πr^2h = 924

2πrh = 264

Dividing these two ratios , we get :

r/2 = 7/2

So, r = 7m .

Now , 2πrh = 264

So, 44h = 264

Hence, h = 6m .

Answer - The radius and height of the cylinder are 7m and 6m respectively.

volume of cylinder = 924m³

⇒ πr²h = 924m³ _ _ _ _ _ _ ( 1 )

curved surface area = 264m²

⇒ 2πrh = 264m² _ _ _ _ _ ( 2 )

Divide both equation :

( πr²h )/( 2πrh ) = 924m³/264m²

⇒ r/2 = 7m/2

⇒ r/2 = 7m/2

⇒ 2r = 14m

⇒ r = 7m

radius = 7m

height = (264m² × 7)/(44 × 7m)

= 264m/44

= 6m

height = 6m
