Target : To find one solution to this boring equation.

The solution should be whole and positive .

Okie .....

Mission starts :

x / ( y + z ) + y / ( x + z ) + z / ( x + y ) = 4

I think if we switch one value as 0 suppose y = 0 then it will be easier to find or reach our target .

Come on there can be 0 bananas .

x / ( y + 0 ) + y / ( x + 0 ) + 0 / ( x + y ) = 4

= > x / y + y / x = 4

= > ( x² + y² ) xy = 4

= > x² + y² = 4 xy

= > x² + y² - 4 xy = 0

Stupid equation !

This equation can't be solved if some mediocre mathematicians correctly judge the steps.

Oh hold on ..

x / y + y / x = 4

Let x / y = t

= > t + 1 / t = 4

Now easy na ?? hold on

= > ( t² + 1 ) / t = 4

= > t² + 1 = 4 t

= > t² - 4 t + 1 = 0

Another stupid one !

Compare this stupid with ax² + bx + c = 0

[ does not deserve to be compared ]

a = 1

b = - 4

c = 1

Use Quadratic formula :

x = [ - b ± √ ( b² - 4 ac ) ] / 2 a

= > t = [ - ( - 4 ) ± √ ( ( - 4 )² - 4 × 1 ×  1 ) ] / 2 × 1

= > t = [ 4 ± √ ( 16 - 4 ) / 2

= > t = [ 4 ± √12 ] / 2

= > t = [ 4 ± 2 √3 ] / 2

= > t = 2 [ 2 ± √3 ] / 2

= > t = 2 ± √3

Either x / y = 2 + √3

Or x / y = 2 - √3

√3 = 1.732 approx

x / y = 1.732 +2 is a possibility .

= > x / y = 3.732

= > x = 3.732 y

Trial and error .

y can be 1000

x can be 3732

x / y = 3732 / 1000

= > x / y = 3.732

Lets check the original equation...

3732 / 1000 + 1000 / 3732

= > 3.732 + 0.2679

= > 3.732 + 0.268 [ approx. ]

= > 4.000 [ approx. ]

If you want exact value ,

increase the decimal place of  √3.

I took √3 = 1.732.

If you want exact 4 then take √3 as 1.732..... to infinity the exact value.

x = 3732

y = 1000

z = 0
