so how would you connect three resistors each of resistance 6 ohm so that the combination has a resistance of 9 ohm and 6 Ohm

1)To obtain resistance of 9 Ohm.
Connect two resistors in parallel and then connect it in series with the other resistor.
2)To obtain 6 Ohm resistor... it cannot be obtained with the given apparatus...
when we connect three resistors in series ;we get 18 ohm.( and if we were to connect a fourth resistor(6ohm) in parallel to this 18 ohm equivalent resistance we would get 6ohm)
if we connect three resistors in parallel to each other we get 2 ohm.
if we connect two resistors in series(12ohm) and caoonect it in parallel with the third we get 4ohm...
