What is flame ?

Flame is the visible gaseous part of the fire. It is caused by highly exothermic reaction within a thin layer.

Flame has three parts :-

  1. Innermost zone : It is the least hot area with a colour of black. It is most inner part of the flame and has no temperature.
  2. Middle zone : It is the moderately hot zone with a colour of red and orange. It has a temperature of 27° to 280°c. It is the middle zone of the flame.
  3. Outermost zone. : It is the most hottest zone with 5000°c temperature and has a colour of yellow. It is the outer zone of flame.
