Answer:
Its absolutely a threat. When we say India is a democratic country it means that its a country of the people and not some particular community or caste. Communalism on the other hand says the exacr opposite. As a result it focuses on the development of 60% of the population negelcting the minorities. Results are high level of frustration which when released into the world causes loss of life as well as property of both the sides. And then the so called devlopment of the majorities also goes on stake. The only people who benefit from it are the ones who carry on with vote bank politics, exciting the masses, making them busy and fooling them into hatred while they themselves enjoy the best of the best at the cost of the taxpayers money.
It is a violation of our humanity, our democratic faith and the constitution of India. Broadly speaking, whenever and wherever we discriminate against a person for his/her religion, race, language, caste, color or creed we commit the sin of communal ism. More specifically ,communal ism is understood as an act discrimination against a religious community which usually takes the forms like suppressing its language and culture, depriving it of education of its choice for its children, , of its share in the economic cake, of its dignity, denying it justice and freedom, and pushing it out of the main stream of the country. We are certainly facing communalism which some of our political activity generates for its selfish ends. We have faced it through centuries , and we are facing it even today. Communal ism in whatever form has been harming the social, political, economic and moral fabric of our society. Under the garb of communal ism flourishes injustice, cynicism, corruption, lawlessness, inefficiency, disintegration of our institutions crime, rape and murder, leading to making our lives insecure and meaning less.
