When raisins are soaked in water, they swell. All this is due to the process of osmosis. The water molecules pass the cell membrane of the raisins and the raisins thus get swollen. ... Water can be put back into a raisin through the process of osmosis.................

ANSWER:

The Soak some raisins in water and it were observed that the raisin imbibes the water inside and bulge after one day.

EXPLANATION:

The phenomenon is called osmosis which is the entry of water to higher concentration from lower concentration area. Hence the water concentration in raisin increase leading to bulging.

But once they are put again in sugar solution, they regain the original shrink form, again the movement of water towards sugar syrup. The people prefer to consume bulged raisin in morning for mineral and vitamins source.
