soap solution is added to sample A with tap water and sample B with hard water and the samples are agitated, what will you observe in both test tubes? explain.

Sample A will have longer lengths of foam as it is normal water.

But, sample B is hard water, i.e., it has salts of elements like calcium, etc.. Thus, soap water will form scum in sample B.

In tap water u wikl see the soap will be easily soluble and forms bubbles..


Whereas in sample B ..the soap reacts with the calcium magnesium ions in hard water an forms a curdy scum..thus soap do not form lather.
