Soaps can not be used in hard water.Why?

soaps have two parts hydrobhobic and hydrophillic parts..
soaps are not used in hard water because hard water contains oxides of magnesium or oxides of calcium which hinders the cleaning action of soaps.
I.e the impurities present in the hard water reacts with soap and hence cleaning action of soaps will be hindered by hard water...
