For example while boys are given guns, cars and video games to play with, girls are given dolls and kitchen sets. The stereotype that girls are a burden on their parents affect the life of a daughter in several ways. The daughter is made to feel an unwanted child since her childhood. Her education and diet is totally neglected.

No attention is given to the diet and nutrition intake of girls.Not much importance is given to girl's education. The completion of house hold chores becomes an important task of the girl. Usually girls are not sent to any any tution classes and coaching institutes that prepare students for IITs, MBA and MBBS. It is becuase parent don't want to spend money on girls' higher education.Constantly, the girls are reminded that they are an unwanted child in the family. This affect the mental health of a girl child.
