Poverty is caused in a country like India in two ways. It is both a cause of excluding a section of society as well as the consequence of doing so. In view of this, there has to be inclusive growth by bringing in the downtrodden into the mainstream of economic growth, so that the fruits of our economic progress is equitably distributed among the masses and not done selectively; in the latter event, the rich become richer and the poor poorer.
In view of the above, we should break down all social and economic barriers to progress of all the citizens, so that every Indian gets an equal opportunity to progress. Once this is done, both the cause and the consequence will have been taken care of in one single stroke.
