It only depends on how much you use them for a good thing, how it is beneficial to you.
Everyone has different demands from social media; some likes to make friends, girlfriends, make connection with families, colleagues and so on.

Facebook - Mostly used to make friends, chat and make posts.
Twitter - Mostly used to make tweets, and make followers.

But obviously we misuse most of the things that we're given. Even I had wasted my time on social medias for years, but I don't ask people to do the same. I just want to say don't overuse social media.
