Social media is harmful to society. It is. Look at those people who use Facebook. Look at the people with Twitter. Look at the guys with iPhones. How do we know they have iPhones? Because they hold it in front of their faces, texting, and using social media. This is harmful. While YOU could be spending time doing other USEFUL activities, you shouldn't been facing a screen, clicking and chatting.


Social media today has wreaked many people's life, mostly teens an d youth and has become their living source. Social media has killed many youths and teens our age. It has made some people live a wrong and reckless life. Its has turn the understanding of our young one up side down. It has made many people loose hope.

Despite the advantage, there is also some disadvantage of having online profile on social networking sites. First, it makes identity theft easier. An example, when the user creates a profile online it will ask to share some details about the users. There are sites that allow the user to hide information that the user doesn’t want to. This is because when the users share their email address, banking account, or information about them, it gives the theft easy way to steal the user identity or send spam massage. Users need to be aware of people that scam over the social network sites. Scammers use social networking sites to trap users for downloading all kind of viruses. This is because the scammers send a link to all users says that it’s a funny video, this link will ask the users to download and install a video player before they can watch the video. The download file that been ask to download is actually a virus that can harm the computer. The scammers will spread more viruses to the entire user friend list after the user computer has been infected. Cyber bullying also happened to be in socializing online. People find bullying online is easier compare to bullying face to face. This happen when people share their email address on social network or even on social networks and it become more publicly. High school student are the main victim of social networking online. Victims normally experience on dropping grades, self esteem is low and depression. People now days don’t really spend a quality time with their family especially teenagers, because they find social network interesting. This means teenagers would likely ended up spending more time on social sites than outside on meeting people face to face. Teenagers spending more time on social sites can also led them to obesity, because they sitting on the chair chatting and eating at the same time. Teenagers should stay fit an enjoy the opportunity they have outside rather than getting their eyes glued on the computer screen.

Conclusion
To sum up, the disadvantage for social networking outweighs the advantage. Even though the user gets updates all the time, by sharing information online is dangerous. People needs to be aware and be mindful of what personal information they share while socializing and networking online. There is some lack of piracy and getting bullied on a network is not a good option. Using a social sites, it is suppose to be user friendly not that people can steal identity.
