Raja ram Mohan Roy was a prominent social reformer who worked for the welfare of the women. His constant efforts for the betterment of the widows resulted in the van of sati Pratha.
Ishwarchandra vidyasagar was also a reformer who worked for the wines welfare, his attempts to make Hindu widow remarriage legal took lot of efforts but eventually the government passed the act which legalized widow remarriage.
