1) The immediate cause was the introduction of Enfield rifles. There was a rumor that the cartridges to be used for the rifles were greased with the fat of cows and pi.gs. This sparked off the Mutiny.

2) The reasons that led to thefailure of the mutiny are as follows :-

• Weak leadership. ...

• Lack of Pan-India Character.

•The modern educated Indians also did not support the Revolt.

.

•The zamindars of Bengal also remained loyal to the British.

• The Kings/Royalties supported the British.

• The Peasant militia wasn't capable to keep up against the well trained troops/army .

3) The sector which is registered and follows government rules and regulations, having employees and employee unions is called as an organised sector. In India, banks, railways, the insurance industry, central government employees, etc can be called as an Organised Sector. This sector is governed by various acts like Factories Act, Bonus Act, PF Act, Minimum Wages Act, etc. The sector that comprises of small-scale enterprises or units and is not registered with the government is called an unorganized sector. it has remained largely outside the control of the government.
