Agriculture :- Agriculture is a primary activity, which produces most of the food raw material for various industries. It has a vital role in Indian economy..
Types of farming :-
=> Arable farming grows crops, eg wheat and barley.
=> Pastoral farming is raising animals, eg cows and sheep.
=> Mixed farming is both arable and pastoral.

Rabi - winter - October to December.
kharif - rainy - rainy season.
zaid - between rabi and kharif.
Farm System: Farming is a kind of system in which various inputs and processes are involved to obtain production. Machineries, seeds and fertilisers are the physical inputs for agriculture. Labour is the human input. Crops are the outputs of agriculture.
Major food crops:- Major food crops grown in India are rice, wheat, millets, pulses, tea, coffee, sugarcane, oil seeds, cotton and jute, etc.
Major non food crops:-Major Non-food crops include Oilseeds (groundnut, linseed, rapeseed and mustard, nigerseed), Fibre crops (cotton, jute and mesta), sugarcane, tobacco, Plantation crops (tea, coffee and rubber) etc..
Schemes for farmers in India:-
