Socialist pattern of society is a concretised expression of the directive principles of Indian constitution. It is a new social order. It has been accepted as the acknowledged goal by parliament and the Indian Republic. This is not to be regarded as a set rigid pattern. Each country has to develop according to its own genius and tradition but it is important to stress certain basics values and the institutional arrangement implied in them. The accent of socialist pattern is on the attainment of positive goals, the raising of living standards, the enlargement of opportunities for all promotion of enterprise among the disadvantaged classes, and the creation of sense of partnership among all sections of the community.
