Answer:
The elderly adults are susceptible to different hardships and difficulties.
1. As their health deteriorates and friends and spouses die, the elderly adults are at an increased risk for social isolation. Social isolation refers to a complete or near-complete lack of contact with the society. It is usually involuntary and not wilfully seeking to distance himself from social interaction. Human beings, by nature, are social creatures. By the process of socialization, we become accustomed to living in groups and interacting with others. Maintaining friendships and building relationships is an important aspect of old age that wards off social isolation.
2. Late life depression is another serious challenge for the aging. It is the onset of depression for the first time in a person over sixty years of age. Late life depression gets worse as the younger members of the family started to ignore and don't care to spend time with them or talk to them.
3. Ageism is the discrimination of groups because of their age, and applies especially to the elderly. This means treating of a person differently from others based on stereotypes relating to their age.
4. Elders frequently encounter prejudice as others assume stereotypes about them to be true. Many people are prejudiced against seniors. Old people are frequently assumed to be in poor physical or mental health and lack psychological agility. For instance, older drivers up until the age of about 75, are safer drivers than younger drivers. Unfortunately, elderly adults are frequently discriminated against due to stereotypes based on their age. Older adults encounter prejudice in the workplace. It is frequently assumed that an elderly person is mentally inept and incompetent.
5. Elder abuse is the use of physical or mental harm against people of older age. Elder abuse refers to all types of abuses against older adults perpetrated upon them by those the elderly people typically depend. Domestic elder abuse is committed by family or friends, and by staff of old age homes or institutions designated to take care of elders.
Answer:
Hi there!
In today's world, old people are facing so many problems. Firstly, they dont have that much energy to carry on & secondly, most of the times as we see, their children make them to get out from there home which is the most disrespectful thing which one can do.
Even Old people has not that much money left. So financial problem can also exist.
Mostly people treat them as a wasteful persons who all are now just a burden but this is very very wrong.
Young generations say 'Old people are a burden. It will be good if they pass on soon...'
We should try to step up from all this hatred & must have the sense of humanity.
Survival of the fittest theory was given by Charles Darwin which says only the strongest survives & the weaker ones get killed BUT I THINK HE MADE A MISATAKE & that is, this theory is only for animals EXCLUDING HUMANS. For humans, there is only HUMANITY. That is what spreaded across the world by men of God (Guru Nanak, Krishna Ji, Jesus Christ, Chisty (Muslim)).
Thus old persons should be treated as humans not like animals. Old is Gold. They are always wiser than you even if you own a brans or a company as it was they who raised you, spent money for you & made you who you are.
Hope it helps you, my friend (mark it brainliest only if it helps you & i know it will!)
