Sodium atom loses an electron to form sodium ion. Identify the compound formed by sodium ion with another ion having the same number of electrons. Predict the solubility of the compound.

Chlorine has the same number of electron gained as the no. of electron lost by the sodium.....so, compound that could be formed is NaCl.....It is soluble in water.....but sparingly soluble in organic solvents....
