Sodium chloride salt is used for cooking. It is formed when hydrochloric acid is added to sodium hydroxide solution ,both of which are corrosive in nature. But sodium chloride is not. Give reasons.

Because sodium chloride is formed when Hydrochloric acid react with Sodium hydroxide (base), which is a neutralizlation reaction. in this reaction acid react with base to form salt and water.
For e.g.=
Acid+base➡ Salt + water
HCL + NaOH➡ NaCl + H2O
hence Sodium chloride is formed which is a salt and therefore it is neutral in nature nor corrosive in nature.
