Sodium has 1 valence electron and chlorine has 7 valence electrons but both are highly reactive elements. Why?​

Sodium is considered the highest reactive metal after lithum. It has the valence of one hence it readly and easily loses an e- without much energy, hence is reactive. it showes Electro positive nature

Chlorine is considered the highest reactive non-metal after Flurine because it can readly and easily accept an e- . hence is reactive. it showes electoro negetive nature.
