because chlorine has more electrons. the more the no. of electrons the more is the attractive force between the protons and electrons, as the no. of shells in both the elements is same, then electrons from the outermost shell are drawn inwards, reducing the size of atoms

it is bigger in atomic size because as we go from left to write in a period then the atomic size decreases and these two metal are of period 3 and as we see the sodium is on left hand side of this period and chlorine is on right so we can say that the sodium have large atomic size.
