Chemically,
Sodium hydrogensulphate is NaHSO4. It is formed by the reaction of NaOH and H2SO4 :
                       NaOH + H2SO4 → NaHSO4 + H2O
Sodium hydrogensulphate does not dissolve in water to give a hydrogen atom, but can give a hydrogen ion as Sodium hydrogensulphate has one of the acidic hydrogens of sulphuric acid left, so it can donate a H+ ion to a strong base which can be represented as follows:

                       NaHSO4+ NaOH → Na2SO4 + H2
