Sodium hydroxide reacts wih excess hydrochloric acid. Calculale the mass of sodium hydroxide required to produce 117g of sodium chloride.​

NaOH + HCl → NaCl + H2O

Molar mass of NaOH = 23+16+1 =40g/mol

Molar mass of NaCl = 23+35.5 =58.5g/mol

To produce 58.5g NaCl 40g NaOH is required

So, to produce 117g NaCl {(40/58.5)×117}g = 80g NaOH is required.
