Sodium hydroxide reacts with acetic acid to give Sodium acetate and water.

NaOH + CH3COOH -----> CH3COONa + H2O

Basically, this is an example of an acid-base reaction.Where,

Base + Acid -----> Salt + water

Hope it helps!!

The acetic acid (HC2H3O2) found in the vinegar will react with the NaOH until all of the acetic acid is neutralized. When an acid, such as acetic acid reacts with a base like NaOH, the products are a salt (NaC2H3O2, sodium acetate) and water (H2O)

Reaction-

NaOH + CH3COOH → CH3COONa + H2O

Sodium hydroxide + Acetic acid → Sodium acetate + Water

Hope it helps.
