Sodium is an alkali metal. It has only one valence electron. So, it has a very high tedency to lose electrons. As a result, it is very reactive.

sodium ion has its outermost shell complete...so sodium ion is stable.........but sodium atom has one valence electron so it can loose electron easily..and hence it is very reactive ..... mark as brainiest
