reasons of storing sodium in kerosene oil:-

sodium belongs to the first group elements of periodic table which are highly reactive so sodium can react with moisture and form hydrogen gas which produces flame and can burn easily at normal temperature. so sodium is put under the kerosene oil which prevent it to react with moisture and cannot burn.
