Sodium is stored in kerosene.why??

sodium is highly reactive with oxygen it catches fire imidiatly so it is stored in form of kerosene

sodium metals reacts very vigorously with water. this reacting give out so much heat that hydrogen insolved catches fire. Therefore,sodium is stored under kerosene, or paraffin wax.
