Sodium metal is a pure substance and so is sodium chloride, inspire of the fact that sodium chloride contains two different elements. Explain

This is so because Sodium and chlorine combine to form a homogenous mixture. Also, NaCl can be decomposed but it's elements can't be decomposed further.
