whereas NaCl is a compound of Na which is Formed as a result of chemical reaction (change) and after a chemical reaction the properties of of constituent elements in compound are lost

Thus NaCl is not soft But hard

it has Hydrogen which is highly combustible yet its compound water can extinguish fire
