Given info : A soft iron electromagnet has cross sectional area 10 cm² and has 0.8 mWb flux.

To find : magnetic flux density in the core is ...

solution : magnetic flux , Φ = 0.8 mWb = 0.8 × 10¯³ Wb

cross sectional area, A = 10 cm² = 10 × 10¯⁴ m² = 10¯³ m²

magnetic flux density , B = Φ/A

= 0.8 × 10¯³/10¯³

= 0.8 T

Therefore the magnetic flux density in the soft iron core is 0.8 T
