Given data : Soham needs to reach a place which is 20 Km away from his home. He rides his bike at a speed of 40 Km per hour.

To find : How much time Soham will take to reach the place?

Solution : Let, Soham rides his bike at a constant speed of 40 km/hr.

Now we use formula of speed,

⟹ speed = distance/time

⟹ 40 = 20/time

⟹ time = 20/40

⟹ time = ½ hour

{More info :

  • 20 km = 20000 m
  • 40 km/hr = 40000/3600 = 11.11 m/s

⟹ speed = distance/time

⟹ 11.11 = 20000/time

⟹ time = 20000/11.11

⟹ time = 1800.18 sec

Here we know

  • 1800.18 sec = 30 minutes}

Answer : Time taken by Soham to reach the place is ½ hour (30 minutes).
