Sohan is playing with a ball. If he throws the ball in vertically upward direction with a velocity of 10 m/s, find the maximum height reached by the ball and time taken by it to attain the maximum height. Please answer fast i have exam tmmrw

Initial velocity of the ball in upward direction (u) = 10 m/s

Final velocity at highest point (v) = 0 m/s

Acceleration due to gravity = - 10 m/s^2

Let the maximum height attained is H.

Now, using the third equation of motion:

v^{2}  = u ^{2}  + 2ah \\ 0 ^{2}  = 10^{2}  - 2 \times 10 \times h \\   h = 100 \div 20

H = 5 m

Hence, the maximum height attained by the ball is 5 meters.

Let the time taken be t

v = u + at

t = 10 \div 10

t = 1 seconds
