Sohan started a business with a capital of rs.80000. after 6 months Mohan joined as a partner by investing rs. 65000. after one year they earned a total profit rs. 20000. what is the share of Sohan in the profit?

Given,

The investment of Sohan = 80000 rupees,

Time = 1 year = 12 months,

While, the investment of Mohan = 65000 rs,

Time = 6 months,

We know that,

Profit is jointly proportional to investment and time,

Thus, the ratio of profits of Sohan and Mohan

= 80000 × 12 : 65000 × 6

= 960000 : 390000

= 96 : 39

= 32 : 13

Let Sohan's profit = 32x and Mohan's profit = 13x,

Where, x is any positive real number,

So, the total profit = 32x + 13x = 45x

According to the question,

45x = 20000

$x=20000÷45$

Hence, the share of Sohan in the profit = 32x =

$=32×20000÷45$

$640000÷45$

so, 14,222.22 rupees
