Explanation:

A heavy rainstorm may splash as much as 90 tons of soil per acre. ... Most of the splashed soil particles don't leave the field; they clog surface pores, which in turn reduces water infiltration, increases water runoff, and increases soil erosion.

Answer:

Due to heavy rain soil wash away which causes soil erosion . So to avoid this we need to plant trees to ensure that the soil is not left bare. If the upper layer of soil washes away then the land becomes unsuitable to plant . Hence soil erosion must be controlled.
