because if erosion of soil will be there then obviously top layer will be eroded. In turn vegetation degrades .if no vegetation will be there then soil fertility will loose and soil gets degraded.
Causes-
1. overgrazing of land by stray cattle.
2. devoid of vegetation.
3. pollution growing swiftly day by day.
4. no trees cutting trees for building purposes.
if we do not prevent it , gully erosion or sheet erosion will occur...
so we should grow green and plant more trees afforestation...
