There are 6 types of soil in india :
a.Alluvial soil :this soil is found in norteren plains. ex . bhangar and khadat.
b.Laterite soil :this red residual soil is formed when temperature is high and there are wet and dry periods.
c.Black soil or Rebut soil :this soil is found in the north-western part of Declan pleateau.It is formed of dark igneous rocks (lava) and is rich in iron content.
d.Red soil :this soil is formed due to the weathering of old igneous rocks in p eninsular region.
e.Sandy soil :this soil is porous and generally low in organic matter but it can be grown in areas where irrigation is possible.
d.Mountain soil :this soil is generally a thin soil and not very fertile however , it is suitable for certain varieties of rice.
