Answer:

For this science fair, we wanted to try and do something different that would not only benefit the environment, but the future of Nicaragua as well. This is how we came up with the Solar Cooker experiment. For the experiment, we had our hypothesis based on If we build two different solar ovens, then which one would have better effects on the food than the other solar ovens? Styrofoam oven or newspaper oven? Having our Styrofoam oven as our experimental group and our newspaper oven as the control group. Unfortunately, we could not see our solar cooker to it is maximum potential as we thought we would, due to the strange climate change we were exposed to these past weeks meaning that our hypothesis failed. However, the first day that we experimented with it, we were really near to achieve the results which means the egg being nearly fried but the time was not at our advantage and sunset came along, not giving us lots of sun exposure. Throughout the week, we had to repeat the process for about 10 times minimum to see the temperature change but despite the repetition, there wasn't any big change. Even if due to the climate situation we were found in, we don't doubt the accuracy of our solar cooker because we know that if we were found in a sunny climate, we could've aced it. Something we could have done differently, was to expand the reflective flaps to get more heat. We do not regret any of our choices throughout the experiment because we learned through it and at the same time we know that it was for the future of Nicaragua.
