Yes,In the future when mankind will use all traditional sources of energy then we will total depend on solar energy. It's based on Nikolai Karadeshev scale of civilization. And the we will enter in type 1 civilization which have the capacity to use all the solar energy of sun.

Until a feasible energy storage device is available, it can not replace traditional form of energy. Until traditional energy sources deplete no one will take solar energy so seriously. Solar energy is not available in all the seasons in many of the places, so Here solar energy may not be a good option.
