(x+1)/(2x+3) = 3/8
by cross multiplication
8(x+1) = 3(2x+3)
8x+8 = 6x+9
2x = 1
x = 1/2
so value of x is 1/2

Hi friend, Harish here.

Here is your answer;

Given that,

 \frac{x+1}{2x+3} =  \frac{3}{8}

To find,

The value of x. And to check the answer.

Solution.

We know that,

\frac{x+1}{2x+3} = \frac{3}{8}

Now cross multiply, We get.

8(x+1) = (2x+3) \times 3

⇒ 8x + 8 = 6x + 9

⇒ 2 x = 1

⇒ x =  \frac{1}{2}

Check:

Now substitute the x value in the given equation.

Then,

\frac{x+1}{2x+3} =  \frac{ \frac{1}{2} + 1}{ (2\times \frac{1}{2})+ 3 }

⇒  \frac{ \frac{1}{2} + 1}{ (2\times \frac{1}{2})+ 3 }   =  \frac{ \frac{1+2}{2} }{1+3} =  \frac{ \frac{3}{2} }{4} =  \frac{3}{8}

Therefore the value of x found is correct.
