By substitution method:

x+2y = 2

x = 2 - 2y ----> (1)

X-3y=7 -----> (2)

putting (1) in equation (2)

=> 2 - 2y - 3y = 7

=> 2 - 5y = 7

=> 5y = -5

=> y = -1

so, x = 2 - 2(-1) = 4

By elimination method:

x + 2y = 2 ----> (1)

X - 3y =7 -----> (2)

=> eliminating (1) and (2) we get:

5y = -5

=> y = -1

so, x = 2 - 2(-1) = 4
