Solid carbon dioxide ( dry ice ) is stored under a high pressure because if the pressure is reduced it directly converts into gaseous state without changing in liquid state. It sublime at a -78.5°c.

Dry ice is stored under a high pressure because if the pressure is reduced it directly converts into gaseous state without changing in liquid state as it is sublime in nature. The direct conversion of solid to gad or vice versa is knownas Sublimation.
